Antony reduced to tears after beating Fiorentina to Conference League final | OneFootball

Manchester United loanee Antony was reduced to tears after helping Real Beits into the Europa League final with a 2-2 draw in extra time in the second leg of the Conference League semi-final against Fiorentina on Thursday night.

The 2-2 draw confirmed a 4-3 aggregate defeat for Fiorentina, who had been involved in both of the last two Conference League finals, but without winning either.

La Viola had drawn level in the tie thanks to brace from Robin Gosens, which levelled the aggregate score at 3-3 by the end of the 90 minutes on Thursday night, but an extra-time equaliser from Abdi Ezzalzouli was enough to inflict a 4-3 aggregate victory for Betis.

Antony also found the net on the night, provided the assist for Ezzalzouli’s goal in extra-time and scored the second Real Betis goal during the first leg as well. The Brazilian was left in tears on the pitch at the end of the tie.

The 25-year-old is now up to eight goals and five assists across all competitions since joining Betis on loan from Manchester United in January, including four goals and three assists in eight Conference League appearances.
