Antony, the best signing in Betis history?

Loaned out last January by Manchester United, Antony has rediscovered his form at Real Betis. Some even consider him the club's best signing ever.

With 9 goals and 5 assists in 26 matches last season, the Brazilian winger convinced the Andalusian management to trigger his purchase option on September 1st. Today, sporting director Manu Fajardo makes no secret of his excitement:

I am 100% convinced that Antony is probably the greatest transfer in Betis history. For his talent, his level of play, and the prestige of the club he comes from, this is a major acquisition.

After arriving at Manchester United in 2022 for a hefty fee, Antony (25) never managed to establish himself in the Premier League. In Seville, however, he seems to have found his stride. Under contract until 2030, the Brazilian international (16 caps, 2 goals) has already scored once and provided an assist at the start of this season.
