Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall says that facing neighbours Tottenham Hotspur is always a big occasion regardless of the competition.

The Gunners face The Lilywhites in the group stage of the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup at the Mangata Pay UK Stadium in Borehamwood this evening. Both sides have collected maximum points from their two matches so far.

This stage of the competition usually brings selection changes for Barclays Women’s Super League sides but Arsenal boss Eidevall sees this evening’s game as an important one.

“Any match against Tottenham is a big one for us as Arsenal,” Eidevall said when speaking to the club’s official media team. “We want to produce a good performance and win the game.

“Our supporters were unbelievable at the Emirates on Sunday and we know they bring a good noise at Meadow Park too, so we’re looking forward to seeing them.”

Arsenal face Spurs in league and cup in the space of just four days and Eidevall says that all of his squad have a part to play across those fixtures.

He said “This is another competition and we’ve said before that we need the whole squad to compete throughout the season. We have two big games against Tottenham in the space of four days and of course, everybody wants to be involved in that.

“What has impressed me this season is the way the whole squad has trained to a high level week in, week out, even if there have been times when players have been on the bench. That is the best thing for any coach.”

Arsenal’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup fixture against Spurs kicks-off at 7pm this evening. Tickets are on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
