Several production companies have approached Manchester United on behalf of streaming giants Netflix, Amazon and Disney+ with offers to make a behind-the-scenes documentary of the club’s planned revival under new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, according to the Sun.

The likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have all had documentaries about them made by Amazon in recent years, and streaming companies believe producing a Man United documentary is the dream ticket.

Amazon has also helped produce documentaries on the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney, and they released one covering the ten days building up to the treble-sealing Champions League triumph of the Red Devils in 1999.

Man United have yet to win a Premier League title since 2013, but Ratcliffe wants to ensure they land one very soon, investing £1.25 billion in the Old Trafford club back in January.

Man United chief executive officer Omar Berrada has told staff the club are aiming to win the Premier League by 2028 upon the 150th anniversary of the club, and a documentary detailing everything going on behind the scene in the buildup to their next title will be huge.

However, the Red Devils have so many other issues to resolve right now, and doing a documentary is not a project high on their list of priorities.

They have to make sure their fortunes on the pitch improve following another unimpressive start to a campaign under manager Erik ten Hag.

The proposed £2 billion redevelopment of Old Trafford is also of top priority for Man United at the moment.

They have their own production company, with their in-house media team constantly covering behind-the-scenes footage in training sessions, on matchdays and press conferences, and the footage could be sold on to a third party if an offer is accepted going forward.
