Arbeloa gives one-word answer on Mourinho amid Real Madrid return talk | OneFootball

Álvaro Arbeloa kept it brief before Barcelona v Real Madrid, saying "Yes" when asked if José Mourinho remains "one of us" at the club.

As reports that Mourinho was even told first hand about a clash between Valverde and Tchouaméni, a detail that has added weight to talk of a move back to Madrid in 2026/27.

There is said to be a desire on Mourinho’s side to return to the club he led from 2010 to 2013, with any decision resting with Florentino Pérez. There is no formal offer, but Pérez is said to favour Mourinho to "save" the team.

Arbeloa’s one-word reply was the shortest of a roughly 25-minute news conference that also addressed dressing-room issues.

Mourinho, now Benfica head coach, has said he is focused on the present and on securing second place. Benfica host Braga on Monday, 11 May, in Liga Portugal’s 33rd round, with kick-off at 20:15 at Estádio da Luz.
