Arbeloa on defender’s injury and his future at Fulham

Fulham boss Alvaro Arbeloa is hopeful Luc de Fougerolles has not suffered a serious injury after the defender was forced off against AFC Wimbledon.

Arbeloa also admitted the club may need to make a decision over the youngster’s immediate future in the coming days, with regular playing time a key consideration.

“We don’t know yet, but we hope it’s nothing serious. He needs to play every week, so maybe we need to take a decision over the next few days,” Arbeloa said.

The Fulham manager also confirmed Tom Cairney remains sidelined with injury, while de Fougerolles is a doubt for Sunday’s fixture.

“Tom (Cairney) is still injured, we will see with Luc, maybe he’s not ready for Sunday, we’ll see,” he added.
