Real Madrid risked losing further ground in LaLiga's title race on Friday.
Álvaro Arbeloa's men travelled to Celta Vigo in the weekend's opening game and found themselves level-pegged just 25 minutes into the first half by Borja Iglesias.
It cancelled out a well-worked opener from Los Blancos which saw Aurélien Tchouaméni break the deadlock after being teed up by teammate Arda Güler.
The Türkiye international's Bernabéu career endured a bit of a slow start but he is now proving to be one of Europe's most influential creators after registering a 15th assist.
That puts him on par with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and second only to Bayern Munich's Michael Olise in the list of the continent's top assist makers.
Fortunately for Madrid, they didn't need to call on Güler to deliver another spark as they snatched victory with a late penalty scored by Federico Valverde.
