Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, although any move this summer appears highly unlikely.

After selling Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for £116m, Forest are under no pressure to raise funds through player sales.

Following the appointment of Oliver Glasner, Evangelos Marinakis is determined to strengthen the squad rather than lose another key player in the same transfer window.

Bayern Munich interested in signing Morgan Gibbs-White?

The 26-year-old registered 18 goals and seven assists across all competitions last season, but still missed out on a place in England’s national team squad.

Gibbs-White was close to joining Tottenham Hotspur last summer, but after the move collapsed, he signed a new three-year contract with Forest, becoming the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

According to the Daily Mail, Gibbs-White has decided to change representatives, moving from CAA Stellar to ROOF, an emerging force in football agency.

The report adds that Bayern have strong links with ROOF, and Gibbs-White could emerge as a candidate to replace Michael Olise in the future, although the two operate in different positions.

“Intriguingly, Daily Mail Sport understands that if Michael Olise leaves Bayern Munich this summer, Gibbs-White would be among the candidates to replace him. Olise is wanted by Real Madrid.

“It is worth noting that ROOF have strong links with Bayern, who have recruited extremely well from the Premier League recently by signing Olise in 2024, and Harry Kane a year earlier. Historically, English clubs are more amenable to selling their top players overseas than to domestic rivals, which could also work in Bayern’s favour.”

No chance of joining Bayern Munich this summer

Vincent Kompany already has plenty of options in attacking midfield and is not currently looking to strengthen that area.

Christian Falk has told CFBayern Insider that Gibbs-White has “no chance” of joining Bayern this summer, as there is no room for him in the squad at present.

The England international is also considered too expensive, making any potential move unrealistic in the current transfer window.

Michael Olise is set to stay at Bayern for the upcoming season, although his long-term future remains uncertain.

Bradley Barcola would have been a natural replacement for Olise, but the PSG winger now appears to be closing in on a move to Liverpool.
