Milan Futuro suffered their 17th defeat of the season as Arezzo prevailed by the odd goal on Saturday evening. Massimo Oddo, the Rossoneri’s manager, was also sent off once again.
Oddo’s men headed into the clash with a little bit of optimism after bagging two points in the last three games. However, while the game wasn’t a trashing by any means, it ended in another defeat as 6th-placed Arezzo did what was expected of them.
As highlighted by MilanNews, the game was far from brilliant for either side, with no real goalscoring opportunities in the entire first half. Things did pick up a little in the second but only just, and it took individual brilliance to break the deadlock.
Arezzo’s forward Emiliano Pattarello stole the ball in midfield and drove it forward until he was about 25 metres from the goal, firing a rocket goal-wards. Lapo Nava could do nothing in goal and the game was decided.
Diego Sia responded with a great goal in stoppage time, but it was disallowed for offside. A few minutes before that, Futuro head coach Oddo got himself sent off once again, seeing red for the second time in just five games.
The situation is now dire for the team, and with Sestri Levante playing later today, they could drop to rock bottom in the standings with five games to go.
