Argentina and Switzerland lead 2026 World Cup returnees list, Brazil and Portugal third

The 2026 World Cup will feature 1,247 players across 48 teams, with 319 returning from Qatar 2022. Argentina and Switzerland have the most, 17 apiece.
Brazil’s 15 are: Alisson, Ederson, Weverton, Danilo, Bremer, Marquinhos, Alex Sandro, Bruno Guimarães, Casemiro, Fabinho, Lucas Paquetá, Gabriel Martinelli, Neymar, Vini Jr. and Raphinha.
Next come Belgium, Croatia, Iran and Uruguay with 14 each.
Five teams have 13 returnees, Canada, Qatar, Ecuador, United States and Japan. South Korea, Spain, Mexico and Senegal each have 12.
France, Ghana and the Netherlands are on 11, with Saudi Arabia and Morocco on 10. Germany and Australia have nine, England eight and Tunisia seven.
Nine coaches from 2022 will be on the touchline in 2026, five with the same national teams and four with different sides. Lionel Scaloni and Didier Deschamps stand out, the Qatar finalists. Scaloni leads Argentina at his second World Cup, while Deschamps takes France to his fourth in a row.
