Inter captain Lautaro Martinez spoke to DAZN after the emphatic 4-0 win over Como, with the Argentine forward emphasising the team’s desire, mentality and continued growth under Cristian Chivu.

Inter, Como and Lautaro all dominated the post-match reaction as the Nerazzurri extended their excellent Serie A form and added yet another team to the striker’s long list of victims.

Lautaro broke the deadlock with a composed finish and delivered a true captain’s performance.

“Today we showed all our strength against a very strong team who are high in the table,” he told DAZN, via FCInterNews.

“They have young, talented players and a coach who plays good football, but we showed the desire to take the points. It’s an important win.”

The goal against Como represented the thirtieth different Serie A side he has scored against, a milestone he admitted still feels surreal.

Asked what he feels for Inter, he said: “Sometimes I don’t even realise what I’ve earned through work and sacrifice. As a child I didn’t live through good things, but today I’m grateful to my family, without them I wouldn’t be here.

“I thank them because they’re always with me, and I also thank these fans who have given me their love from the first day I arrived in Milan.

“I’m grateful and I try to show it by giving everything on the pitch.”

Lautaro also opened up about how he deals with criticism, revealing support from a psychologist played a key role in helping him mature.

“I’ve learned to manage it. Early in my career these things hurt, but I spoke with a psychologist and you move forward. I’m happy with what I give to the team, which is the main thing.”
