Argentine star WILL be Liverpool's next signing after Jeremy Jacquet

Jeremy Jacquet will only be the beginning of Liverpool's summer arrivals.

The Reds have already agreed a deal for him to join the club in July. He's going to be an important addition in a key role where Liverpool are lacking depth.

But Jacquet is not the only arrival expected to walk through the doors at Anfield. Nor is he the only centre-back arrival expected to be coming to Liverpool in the summer.

The reality is that Ibrahima Konate could be on his way out as his contract expires and he's yet to extend. Joe Gomez is the subject of interest from several clubs and almost left to join AC Milan last summer.

With his contract expiring in 2027, it's a possibility Liverpool let him go as well.

This would require another addition at the back, and there is an obvious solution. Someone who can bring both experience and quality at the same time, while also not costing a lot of money for the Reds.

The obvious solution and who we think is going to be Liverpool's next transfer agreement after Jacquet is Marcos Senesi.

Why?

His contract expires in the summer, meaning he will be a free agent. He already has a lot of experience in the Premier League and he's also versatile, capable of playing in a number of different roles across the back four.

Most importantly, Arne Slot knows him well. Senesi worked together with him at Feyenoord during the 2021/22 season before he departed the Dutch side.

Given Liverpool are going to have two very young centre-backs in Jacquet and Giovanni Leoni, bringing in Senesi makes a lot of sense.

He'll be 29-years-old by the time the summer comes rolling around. The Argentine is not someone Liverpool would normally look at. The club always has a long-term vision.

But sometimes you have to break your policy. James Milner, Wataru Endo and others are an example of this.

When you're trying to build squad depth, having a player like Senesi, who is older and more trusted with a lot of experience under his belt is important.

Especially, if you're going to lose Konate and Gomez.

It's also important to mention that Senesi is an underrated player. He's been a key pillar for Bournemouth over the last couple of years and has often been their unsung hero.

While Dean Huijsen and Ilyia Zabarnyi got most of the praise last season, Senesi more than played his part in a successful season for the Cherries.

So, this is a deal that just makes sense on so many levels. After Jacquet, we expect Senesi will be the next signing to walk through the doors at the AXA training centre.
