According to Globo.com, Palmeiras returned to training on Wednesday after two days off during carnival, starting preparation for the Paulista quarter-finals. They host Capivariano at 20:30 on Saturday at Arena Crefisa Barueri.

The headline development was Jhon Arias, who completed his first full session with the squad. He had stepped onto the pitch on Saturday, the day after landing in Brazil, but only for individual work with the fitness staff.

The attacking midfielder is on the BID, registered for the Paulista, and could make his Palmeiras debut.

Wednesday’s agenda featured muscle activation, tactical drills and game simulations, plus a small-sided technical exercise with two teams. The team have two further full sessions to settle Saturday’s line-up.

Lucas Evangelista and Felipe Anderson have recently returned from injury, adding options. Abel Ferreira is back after a suspension served against Guarani, following his red card in the derby with Corinthians. Expected absentees remain Paulinho, rehabbing from right leg surgery, and Figueiredo, in physical transition.
