Arne Slot backs incoming Marseille signing Quinten Timber ahead of Liverpool clash

Arne Slot has given a positive assessment of Quinten Timber, as Olympique de Marseille close in on a deal for the Feyenoord midfielder.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s UEFA Champions League meeting with Olympique de Marseille on Wednesday, Slot revealed he has been closely following developments at the Ligue 1 side and was asked about Timber’s imminent move to the Vélodrome.
The Dutch coach knows the player well, having worked with him previously at Feyenoord, and expressed confidence that the 22-year-old would be a strong fit in Marseille.
“He played under me at Feyenoord, and above all, he’s a great person,” Slot said in his pre-match press conference attended by Get French Football News. “Marseille are signing a very good player, and he fits Roberto De Zerbi’s style.”OM host Liverpool in a sold-out Vélodrome as they continue their Champions League campaign, with De Zerbi’s side looking to take another step toward qualification for the knockout stages.
