Arne Slot has equalled a Premier League record after Liverpool’s 3-2 win at Southampton on Sunday.
Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to eight points after a come-from-behind win at St Mary’s.
Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring for Liverpool on the south coast with his first Premier League goal of the campaign, but Adam Armstrong equalised before half-time after turning in the rebound from his own saved penalty.
Matheus Fernandes then fired Southampton in front as the struggling Saints threatened a shock, only for Mohamed Salah to score twice late on and earn Liverpool the points.
Liverpool’s win was their 10th in 12 Premier League games under Slot, following his appointment as manager in the summer. Slot has made an impressive start to his tenure since replacing Jurgen Klopp.
It’s the joint-fastest any manager has ever reached 10 wins from the start of their career in the Premier League, alongside ex-Chelsea managers Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti.
The Reds now sit eight points clear of nearest challengers Manchester City, with only one team (Manchester United during the 1993/94 campaign) having boasted a bigger lead at this stage of a Premier League season.
Liverpool host Manchester City next weekend, where a win at Anfield will take them 11 points clear of the defending champions. The Merseysiders first meet reigning European champions Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
