Liverpool claimed a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, registering a third consecutive victory in the Premier League.

Alexander Isak and Andrew Robertson gave them a two-goal cushion. Palace pulled one back through Daniel Munoz in the second half, before Florian Wirtz sealed the victory in stoppage time.

They have now climbed to fourth in the standings, following Aston Villa’s 1-0 loss at Fulham in the early kick-off.

The victory came at a cost, with forward Mohamed Salah picking up an injury before the hour mark. Jeremie Frimpong replaced him.

When asked if the injury would rule Mohamed Salah out for the rest of the season, Arne Slot gave a worrying response.

He told Liverpool’s official website: “My honest answer is ‘yes’, the way he came off.

“It went through his mind because there are only a few weeks to go, but we are hoping he plays for us again. You have tests to do, and then we have to wait for the prognosis.”

Salah is now likely to miss next Sunday’s clash at Manchester United.

Salah delivered a good performance against Palace

Salah has improved lately and looked lively before his substitution.

He was controversially denied a penalty in the first half when he was brought down by Brennan Johnson after being slipped in by Wirtz.

Salah was involved in the opener, with his cross cleared by Chris Richards. Alexis McAllister launched a shot which was superbly controlled by Isak, who applied the finish.

He registered 36 touches, four of which came in the Palace’s penalty area, completed two of his four dribbles, and made one pass into the final third.

Salah also offered defensive support, making three recoveries and winning two ground duels.

Liverpool will be hoping the 33-year-old features again before his departure this summer.
