Liverpool have been tipped to conduct a summer attacking upgrade in the transfer window. All eyes are currently on Florian Wirtz - and whether the €150m-rated Germany international will end up at Anfield.
But plans are afoot with other forward players. It’s no secret that Arne Slot and Richard Hughes want to add a No9. And uncertainty around the likes of Luis Diaz and Federico Chiesa means the Reds could end up in the market for wingers too.
Diaz, 28, is on the radar of Al-Nassr and Barcelona while Chiesa could well be sold if an appropriate bid is made by interested parties.
That would leave Slot light on numbers and it’s no surprise that transfer links exist to other wide men. Among those names in a new Spanish report is Yankuba Minteh, who won a Dutch cup under Slot at Feyenoord.
The 20-year-old was on loan from Newcastle at the time and has since transferred to Brighton. Following a reported £30m move last summer, the Gambia international scored six Premier League goals and added four more assists in 32 top-flight appearances.
That, according to Fichajes, is sufficient for Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham to monitor the left-footer.
“Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham have all been closely monitoring his progress while he's been at Brighton,” a report reads.
“His performance hasn't gone unnoticed, and he's already on the agenda for possible signings for next season.”
Stationed mostly on the right flank, Minteh ranks highly on FOTMOB for touches in the opposition penalty box. He would provide cover for Mohamed Salah on the right wing and has also featured on the opposite side at times for his current club.
Minteh played 36 times for Slot at Feyenoord during the 2023/24 season, scoring nine times for the Rotterdam side. That sequence of matches included a 6-0 drubbing of Ajax in the Eredivisie in which Minteh scored twice.
