Arouca beat Rio Ave 3-0 at the Estádio do Rio Ave Futebol Clube, climbing from 15th to 11th in Liga Portugal after Tiago Esgaio's set piece opener was followed by strikes from Barbero and Lee Hyun-Ju.

In the 44th minute, Tiago Esgaio glanced in at the back post from José Fontán's corner to break the deadlock.
