Around 200 Rennes and Lille fans clashed near Roazhon Park on Saturday night, leaving one person injured. The incident came on the eve of their Ligue 1 meeting on Sunday at 20:45, part of matchday 26.

The fight broke out at around 23:00 in the industrial area by the stadium. Police dispersed the groups, using tear gas.

According to Le Parisien, the injured individual was treated by firefighters then taken to Rennes University Hospital. The person is reported to have a head injury and is said to be suffering a cranial trauma.

Authorities have put in place a security operation described as suitable and proportionate for the fixture, the Ille-et-Vilaine prefecture said.

An investigation has been opened, according to Ici Bretagne.
