Arrascaeta has begun physiotherapy at Flamengo as he bids to make the World Cup after surgery on a fractured right clavicle last week. According to Globo.com, the Uruguayan midfielder started work at Ninho do Urubu on Tuesday.
On Wednesday he shared photos on social media, shown exercising alongside Flamengo physiotherapist Márcio Puglia.
He had already started home treatment in recent days, using cryotherapy and active intermittent compression.
Alongside physiotherapy, he is also using the training centre gym bike to keep working and limit any loss of fitness.
On Friday, club doctor Luiz Macedo did not rule out Arrascaeta featuring at the World Cup for Uruguay, but he avoided comparisons with Botafogo’s Argentine, Montoro, who returned after 41 days from a similar right clavicle fracture and is 12 years younger.
From the surgery date to Uruguay’s opening match at the tournament, there are 46 days.
