Rodolfo Arruabarrena has drafted academy centre-back Matías Satas into Boca’s first-team training as injuries bite in central defence.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the move addresses a shortage at centre-back within the senior group.
The staff led by el Vasco have reshaped the back line after fitness troubles in the squad. Confirmed absences for Ayrton Costa and Marco Pellegrino triggered a swift look to youth at Ezeiza.
With Lautaro Di Lollo still completing his rehabilitation, options at centre-back are thin.
The left-footer stands 1.84 metres and is regarded as one of Boca’s brightest prospects. Raised at Club 77 de Castelar, he joined the club’s youth ranks in 2017 and progressed to reserve level.
Consistent displays earned his first professional contract, later extended through December 2029. He has already captained Argentina Under-15 at the 2024 South American and featured at the Under-17 World Cup.
Satas has cemented his place in the reserves. For Friday’s meeting with Lanús at La Bombonera, kick-off 21:30, the likelihood he makes the matchday squad is high. It is viewed as almost certain he will be included for the seventh round of the Torneo Clausura 2026.
