Rodolfo Arruabarrena is returning as Boca Juniors head coach for a second spell, having accepted president Juan Román Riquelme's offer. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, he will sign a deal running to December 2027.
He is due to arrive in the country shortly to finalise details and begin work. The club want his staff in place at the Ezeiza base before pre-season starts on 18 June.
For this new stint he will again turn to trusted lieutenants, mirroring his 2014-2016 set-up. Diego Markic will resume duties as assistant, with Gustavo Roberti returning as fitness coach.
Over recent years Markic and Roberti have stayed alongside Arruabarrena during spells in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Roberti's knowledge of the manager's methods and his exposure to multiple leagues were decisive in confirming his return to the project.
Another potential addition is Mauro Navas, a prominent club figure who currently coaches the Ninth Division at Boca Predio. He has previously worked with Arruabarrena at Boca and Al-Wasl. His exact first-team role, and whether he leaves youth duties, has not yet been defined.
With a consolidated structure, Arruabarrena will look to emulate and surpass his first tenure, when he won two trophies in 2015, the Primera División and the Copa Argentina. The project aims to push Boca back to the forefront of Argentine and continental football.
