The 19-year-old goalkeeper joined from FC Nordsjælland last summer, signing his first professional contract on his 18th birthday before the deal was announced a few weeks later.

A Denmark youth international at under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-19 level, Nygaard was identified as a long-term project and quickly became part of Arsenal’s academy rotation, making 13 appearances across competitions.

Brabrand, who play in the Danish second tier, will provide Nygaard with the chance to establish himself in a senior environment and test his ability in a more demanding league.

Arsenal regard the loan as an important step in his progression, giving him exposure to consistent competitive football that cannot be replicated in youth fixtures.

Known for his distribution and composure in possession, Nygaard is expected to feature regularly for Brabrand, with Arsenal tracking his development closely throughout the season.
