Hein has been playing his club football for Real Valladolid this season, but he’s spent the international break with Estonia, and he was easily their star man away in Slovakia on Tuesday night.

At first glance, it might not be entirely obvious why, with Slovakia having won the game 1-0. Hein didn’t keep a clean sheet, and his side took nothing away from the fixture.

But this was a totally dominant display from the home side, racking up 26 shots and 12 on target. Of those 12 efforts that could have found the net, Hein kept out 11.

Estonia were ultimately lucky that they had such an in-form goalkeeper to keep the scoreline so low, and the good news is that they’d already avoided relegation to League D.

UEFA’s highlights of the match are available here, but fair warning, they’ve only included a couple of Hein’s 11 saves due to the limitations of their two-minute package.

The goalkeeper will now return to his club football, hoping to build on the 13 appearances he’s already made in La Liga.
