It was a bruising day for Bayern Munich as Premier League leaders Arsenal inflicted the Bavarians’ first defeat of the 2025/26 season.
The Gunners secured all three points on home territory in the top-of-the-table encounter in the Champions League league phase.
It’s a result that sees Mikel Arteta’s side go three points clear of Real Madrid, PSG, Inter Milan, and Vincent Kompany’s men.

Bayern Munich lost the battle of Europe against Arsenal.
It was the number one side against the number two side in the league phase of the Champions League.
You have to say it was a very bad day for goalkeeper Manuel Neuer – he didn’t look good for two of the goals the Gunners scored in a 3-1 victory in London.
But, there’s also a winner to applaud from the tie, and that’s Lennart, “The Great”, Karl. Charlemagne, you could even call him!
The talented teenager got another goal in Europe for FC Bayern, but in the end, it was not Vincent Kompany’s men’s day.
Congratulations to Arsenal for a very good performance!
Bayern had the dominant share of ball possession in the English capital, but this completely misrepresents the level of control at the Emirates.
The Gunners largely owned the match momentum (as illustrated here by BBC Sport), falling short in various key metrics.
Here at CF Bayern Insider, we have rated the players out of 10.
