Arsenal and Mikel Arteta are close to an agreement over a new contract

Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have been in talks over a contract extension, and the Gunners believe the agreement will be sorted soon following his successful season.

Arteta is set to become a free agent at the end of this season, but the gaffer is in love with the club and certainly wants to remain as the manager. He has been fantastic as Arsenal’s coach and has made them the most consistent team in the league since the 2022/2023 season, meaning the Gunners have no desire to see him leave.

Arsenal want Arteta to stay

Arteta is already one of the highest-paid managers in the world and is in line to earn even more. Arsenal would not mind rewarding him, however, as they sense an opportunity to create a dynasty in the game with the manager at the helm.

The Gunners have worked extremely hard to ensure they have the right team for Arteta, while he has also enjoyed significant backing in the transfer market. With the manager receiving the support he needs to build his squad, there appears to be little reason for him to consider leaving Arsenal.

Contract talks reach advanced stage

Arsenal’s commitment to Arteta has remained clear, and the club want to maintain the progress made under his leadership. His consistency and the team’s performances have made his future an important issue for the Gunners as they look to continue building around him.
