Arsenal announce £60m signing of Eberechi Eze | OneFootball

Arsenal have announced the signing of Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace for a fee of £60m plus add-ons.

The England international has signed a long-term contract at the Emirates and will join up with his new teammates after Saturday’s clash with Leeds United.

Eze spent time in the Arsenal academy as a child, before forging his route to the Premier League during spells at Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace.

He scored 40 times in 169 appearances for Palace, including the winner in last season’s FA Cup final as the club secured a first-ever major trophy. Eze has also won 11 caps for England, scoring his first international goal against Latvia in March.

The Gunners have beaten competition from North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur to Eze. Arsenal have confirmed that the new recruit will wear the number 10 shirt at Arsenal, with Mikel Arteta expressing his delight at securing a deal for the 27-year-old.

“We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal. He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game,” Arteta told Arsenal’s official club website.

“What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today.

“His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club. We all look forward to start working with Eberechi soon.”
