The 32-year-old has been an Arsenal player for the last seven years after joining the club from German side 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam in 2018. Wälti has written her name into Arsenal history but her spell in North London has now come to an end.
Commenting on her departure, Wälti said “This is, without doubt one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to take in my life to leave this football club. Arsenal is so much more than just a football club for me. It’s my second home, my family, may safe place, a place I always wanted to return to, and all I have in my heart right now are just beautiful memories I will always keep with me.
“Thank you to the fans, you made us feel unstoppable, and thanks to everybody who supported me on the journey. Thanks for everything Arsenal.”
Wälti is expected to join Italian club Juventus later today.
