Arsenal announce Viktor Gyokeres signing | OneFootball

Arsenal have secured the services of Swedish forward Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon in a big-money deal valued at €73 million (£63m).

The 27-year-old has agreed to a five-year stay at the Emirates, with the move taking time to finalise due to ongoing talks over bonus clauses between the two clubs.

Arsenal are set to pay an upfront fee of £55 million, with an additional £8.5 million linked to performance-based incentives.

This marks a return to English football for Gyökeres, who previously spent time at Brighton after arriving in 2018. He also had loan spells at St Pauli in Germany and Swansea City before making an impact at Coventry.

His time in Portugal was hugely successful - he played a key role in helping Sporting claim back-to-back league titles, lift a domestic cup, and topped the scoring charts in both seasons.

Gyökeres was in blistering form last season, netting 54 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions.
