In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo mentioned that Arsenal are keeping a keen eye on Como playmaker Nico Paz. It is believed that the Gunners would have to compete with Chelsea and Real Madrid in the race to land the Argentine talent next year.

Paz’s Impressive Form In Italian Football

Paz has enjoyed an excellent run of form at the Italian club during this campaign as he has produced a series of impressive performances for them in Serie A. The Argentine sensation has banged in four goals and earned four assists in eight matches for Como this season across various competitions.

The 21-year-old has given a good account of himself in the final third and deserves credit for averaging 3.21 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has kept 45.5% of his attempts on target. Paz was even accurate when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 76.3% in the Italian first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Como will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Gunners to snap him up on a cut-price deal next year.

Will Paz A Decent Choice For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Paz is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third. He can strike the ball with power from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top.

The Argentine playmaker is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or as a striker if told to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to get a deal done for him next year.

We can expect Paz to bring more quality and depth to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s attack. He is more than capable of fighting for regular first-team football at the North London club. Hence, the Argentine would be a great choice for Arsenal to consider in 2026.

At 21, Paz has got the potential to be a future star in English football. Therefore, the Gunners would be wise to move in for him this January or at the end of this campaign.
