Arsenal are reportedly showing an interest again in the potential transfer of Sporting Lisbon right-back Ivan Fresneda.
The talented 22-year-old has attracted attention again after winning a call-up to the Spain squad for this international break, but this is not the first time the Gunners have been linked.
We reported earlier this year about Arsenal exploring Fresneda as an option, though in the end this deal may not have materialised due to Ben White staying at the Emirates Stadium for another season.
Both White and Jurrien Timber had injuries over the summer, which may have made it more complicated for Arsenal to get business done in that position, but it seems Fresneda is still firmly on their radar.
According to Correio da Manha, as cited and translated by Sport Witness, Arsenal are alongside Barcelona in showing an interest in Fresneda as he continues to impress.

Still, the report adds that Sporting are hoping to tie Fresneda down to a new contract, with the Spaniard likely to be able to command bigger wages now that he’s earned his first senior call-up.
Fresneda has not actually played during this international break, but it still makes sense that his growing stature in the game means there’ll surely be interest from bigger clubs in the near future.
If Arsenal find they need to replace White next summer, then Fresneda could be an ideal option to give Mikel Arteta something a bit different in that department.
Barcelona, meanwhile, might also do well to snap up Fresneda if possible, as we understand they’re open to letting Jules Kounde go in order to freshen things up at right-back.
