Arsenal have agreed a new long-term sponsorship deal with Emirates worth a reported £75m a season plus performance-related bonuses, providing another major financial boost as the Premier League champions look to strengthen their squad and build on last season’s title success.

The agreement, which runs until 2033, extends one of the longest commercial partnerships in football, with Emirates remaining Arsenal’s front-of-shirt sponsor, training kit partner and stadium naming rights holder.

The deal is understood to be one of the most lucrative shirt sponsorship agreements in world football and will significantly increase Arsenal’s commercial revenues at a time when Mikel Arteta is looking to reinforce his title-winning squad.

The additional income will help Arsenal comply with the Premier League’s financial regulations while continuing to invest heavily in players as they look to defend their crown and challenge in the Champions League.

The Gunners have already spent heavily this summer and are closing in on a deal for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, while they have also been linked with a sensational move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior.

Arsenal chief executive Richard Garlick said the renewed agreement reflected the club’s ambition following last season’s title triumph.

“Winning the Premier League gives us the opportunity to be more ambitious and build on where we are today,” he said.

“Our renewal reflects a shared belief in Arsenal’s future and a shared determination to keep moving forward.”

Emirates first became Arsenal’s shirt sponsor in 2006, the same year the club moved into the stadium that bears the airline’s name, and the new agreement extends a relationship spanning more than a quarter of a century.

With increased revenues from sponsorship, Champions League football and prize money, Arsenal are well placed to continue investing in the squad as they seek to establish themselves as regular contenders for the biggest domestic and European honours.
