Paris Saint-Germain are focusing on strengthening their central defense this summer, with an interest in several defenders. Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille is a top target, but his preference for joining Real Madrid complicates PSG’s pursuit. As a result, it could prompt them to consider other options.

Real Madrid is also interested in Yoro and is setting conditions for his transfer that could give them the upper hand. If Lille remains steadfast, Real Madrid might explore other avenues to bolster their defensive lineup.

According to CaughtOffside, Real Madrid and PSG are eyeing Arsenal’s William Saliba for the transfer window. However, Arsenal has clarified that they are not looking to sell the player.

While talking to PSG Talk, journalist Robin Bairner discussed the Saliba rumor. He notes that the Frenchman’s departure from the Gunners doesn’t seem likely, considering how important the player is to manager Mikel Arteta.

“Saliba, from my understanding, is a player that Mikel Arteta sees as absolutely integral to the future of Arsenal. He’s been linked with not just PSG but a couple of clubs. Real Madrid, I think, bizarrely were linked with him this morning, which doesn’t make sense given the [Leny] Yoro links. Yoro is a much more logical signing for Real Madrid and one that you would imagine they will make, given that he seems to have a strong preference to go there, but I can’t see Saliba going to Real Madrid or PSG this summer.

“I can imagine as a player that both clubs would absolutely love to have, but Arsenal in the position that they’re in, surely don’t want to get rid of him. Saliba’s probably not particularly keen on leaving Arsenal at the moment because it’s a very exciting project, a very strong project and they really look like they’re going to be making a good push towards the Premier League title again next season.”

Saliba fits the profile that the reigning Ligue 1 champions are seeking, as he’s young and French. Still, the Parisians will need to look elsewhere to bolster their defense.
