Arsenal confirm Bruno Guimaraes signing from Newcastle in deal worth around €90m | OneFootball

Arsenal confirmed on Saturday the signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle, the Brazil midfielder joining on a long-term deal valued at around €90m, exceeding €85m excluding add-ons.

The 28-year-old leaves after three and a half seasons with the Magpies. A Brazil international with 48 caps, he will wear the number 39 shirt at the Emirates.

He had reached agreement weeks ago on terms running until 2031. The move adds to Arsenal’s summer business, with Piero Hincapié, Illan Meslier and Christos Tzolis also arriving.

The Premier League champions took time to meet Newcastle’s demands. Guimaraes strengthens an already well-stocked midfield and could help ease the workload on Declan Rice.

Newcastle, meanwhile, lose a second key midfielder this summer following Sandro Tonali’s departure to Tottenham.
