Arsenal have now revealed that Newcastle United will be one of three opponents they will face in a pre-season trip to Asia.
Friday morning seeing the Gunners firm up their plans ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season which kicks off on the weekend of Saturday 16 August 2025.
Arsenal will play two games in Singapore, against AC Milan on Wednesday 23 July and then against Newcastle United on Sunday 27 July.
The Gunners then facing Spurs in Hong Kong on Thursday 31 July.
Newcastle United have so far only confirmed this pre-season friendly against Arsenal on Sunday 27 July, though it would be very surprising if they don’t then confirm at least one more friendly to be played during this trip to Asia.
It has long been claimed that Newcastle will play away at Celtic in a pre-season friendly on Saturday 19 July 2025, though nothing officially confirmed on that so far.
Arsenal official announcement – 11 April 2025:
‘Our men’s first team will play two matches in Singapore in July as part of our pre-season preparations.
We will play two matches during our stay, kicking off against AC Milan on Wednesday 23 July (7.30pm local time), before taking on Newcastle United on Sunday 27 July (7.30pm local time). Both matches will be played in the 55,000-capacity National Stadium in Singapore.
Our Managing Director, Richard Garlick said: “It’s great that we’re coming back to Singapore in July to play against two quality opponents and meet so many of our brilliant supporters.
Our men’s first team squad enjoyed trips to Singapore in both 2015 and 2018, when we made some great memories playing in the impressive National Stadium, where we’ll return to play again this year.
“Our trip will give us the opportunity to connect with our supporters in this beautiful region, with the matches against AC Milan and Newcastle United promising to produce two exciting games, providing the squad with high-quality preparation ahead of the new season.”
Confirmation of our two matches in Singapore comes shortly after we announced our pre-season game against Tottenham Hotspur, which is being played in the recently opened Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on Thursday, 31 July, completing our three-match tour in Asia.
The squad will return to London after the match against Tottenham to continue our preparations ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season, which starts on the weekend of Saturday, August 16.
