WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this afternoon.
Beattie has enjoyed two spells with Arsenal. She first represented the club between 2009 and 2013 before returning for a second spell in 2019. The defender has gone on to win one league title, two Adobe Women’s FA Cups and three FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cups with the North Londoners. In total, Beattie has made 166 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions in which she has scored 33 goals.
It is fair to say that Beattie is one of Arsenal’s all-time greats and she leaves the club with everyone’s best wishes.
After Beattie’s Arsenal departure was announced, Director of Women’s Football, Clare Wheatley said “Jen leaves Arsenal with the respect and admiration of every one of us. She has been a wonderful player for us across two periods here and we’re excited to watch her in this new chapter. It’s a sad moment to say goodbye to such an important Arsenal figure, but Jen will always be part of this family and we look forward to seeing her soon.”
Beattie’s move was completed ahead of the January transfer deadline at 11pm on Wednesday evening.
