Jakub Kiwior may have played his final game for Arsenal if the latest reports hold any truth.

Following a successful summer transfer window in which Arsenal have made six quality signings, the focus has now shifted to outgoings, with hopes that a seventh arrival will follow. Several Gunners have been linked with an exit, one of them being Jakub Kiwior.

Kiwior impressed in Gabriel’s absence

Kiwior played a key role in Arsenal’s 2024/25 campaign, starting the final 12 matches of the season in place of the injured Gabriel Magalhães. He proved not to be the liability some feared, with many arguing that all he needed was a consistent run of games to showcase his excellent passing and composure.

Despite ending the season on a high note, Kiwior has found himself in a difficult position this summer. Would he push for a move elsewhere, or stay and hope to be considered more seriously for a starting role?

While he weighed up his options, Arsenal complicated matters. The club moved for Cristhian Mosquera, a versatile, young yet experienced centre-back, and Kiwior may well have felt disappointed. Despite his strong finish to the season, the club still opted to add direct competition in his position.

There was hope he could still fight for a place, but his omission from the matchday squad against Manchester United, while Mosquera made the cut, may have sealed his fate.

European giants circle

According to the Evening Standard: “AC Milan and Porto are understood to both be interested in signing the centre-back before the transfer window closes this summer”.

Surely, Arteta has now decided to move Kiwior on with the Polish international likely feeling that his performances at the tail end of last season should have earned him regular minutes, especially with the FIFA World Cup on the horizon.

While nothing is confirmed yet, and with around nine days remaining before the transfer window closes, there is every reason to believe that Gooners may have seen the last of Kiwior in red and white.

Are Arsenal making the right move here?
