Arsenal have approached PSV Eindhoven to discuss the conditions of a deal to sign Johan Bakayoko.
Bakayoko broke into the PSV team last season following the exits of Cody Gakpo and Noni Madueke to the Premier League and has become a key figure under head coach Peter Bosv.
The 21-year-old has excelled with a prominent place in the team and ended the 2023-24 campaign with 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions, as PSV won the Eredivisie title.
Bakayoko’s performances have seen several Premier League clubs express interest and Belgian outlet DHNet are reporting that Arsenal are the latest to have made enquiries.
Mikel Arteta wants to bring in competition and cover for Bukayo Saka at right-wing and Bakayoko’s preference for coming inside on his stronger left foot makes him a suitable stylistic addition.
The Belgium international is open to leaving PSV for a new challenge this summer and is valued in the region of €45m (£38m). The winger turned down a transfer to Brentford last summer to continue his development at PSV and has seen his stock rise with a coming-of-age campaign in the Dutch division.
