Arsenal fans hit with more travel difficulties after 2 matches rescheduled | OneFootball

Arsenal fans have once again been asked to travel back from the north east in the late evening, after two Gunners games were rescheduled for TV coverage.

The Premier League have confirmed a couple of alterations to Arsenal’s November fixture list, with the games against Newcastle United and Manchester City both to be televised.

The Newcastle away game will now be at 5:30pm on Saturday, November 21st, whilst the Manchester City home match will be at 4:30pm on Sunday, November 29th.

Neither fixture being chosen for TV is particularly surprising. Newcastle away has often proved a tricky trip for Arsenal, and there’s the added element of Bruno Guimaraes’ return on this occasion.

Then the Manchester City game looks to be between the two title favourites, though whether the two clubs will still be at the top of the table by the end of November remains to be seen.

The only disappointment is the timing of the Newcastle match, handing supporters another late-night journey back from the north east. It’s only a slight improvement on the recent 8pm match away to Sunderland.

There’s only one train back to London from Newcastle after 7:30pm, and it’s sure to be packed. The fan coaches surely won’t arrive back until long after midnight, making them a tricky option for anyone who doesn’t live in close proximity to the Emirates Stadium.

The game would be much easier to manage with a 12:30pm or 3pm kick-off on Saturday, or 2pm on Sunday, but unfortunately, the fans aren’t really the priority anymore.
