Blackburn Rovers have suffered a transfer blow regarding one of their young players
Arsenal have been handed a boost in their race for one of Blackburn Rovers' young talents following a huge recent development at Ewood Park.
After challenging for the play-offs last term, the East Lancashire outfit have failed to replicate that form during the first half of the 2025/26 campaign.
23 matches in, Rovers sit 19th in the second-tier standings and trail the top six by 11 points. Controversy has followed Blackburn around, with two of their matches abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch.
In the summer, experienced operators such as Lewis Travis, Callum Brittain, Dom Hyam and Joe Rankin-Costello all moved to other Championship clubs. An inability to replace these players has been sorely apparent, with Blackburn struggling to find any consistency this term and appear primed to battle against relegation to League One under Valerien Ismael.

With January approaching, it seems as though Blackburn may be about to take more pain in the transfer window.
Rovers have struggled to get anywhere near to a Premier League return since dropping out of the top-flight in 2012, but have excelled in producing young talent.
Their crowning glory in recent times has been Adam Wharton, who has gone on to feature for Crystal Palace and the England national team. Another young starlet that has come through their ranks recently is Igor Tyjon.
The 17-year-old has been linked with Arsenal on numerous occasions throughout 2025, with the time approaching to sign his first professional deal.
Blackburn had hoped to keep the forward, but that no longer looks to be a realistic idea. According to the Lancashire Telegraph, Tyjon has told the club that he won't sign a professional deal with them.
A January exit could now be on the cards for the teenager who has attracted Premier League interest, with Arsenal emerging as the strongest suitors for his sought-after signature.
Rovers included him in their first-team plans during pre-season in a bid to get him to sign a new deal at Ewood Park, but that has been to no avail.

Although supporters will be disappointed to see Blackburn lose such a promising asset, there may not have been much more the club could have done.
Arsenal possess the resources to tempt almost any player in world football to join them, which means that their interest is likely to have immediately made up the teenager's mind.
With Tyjon having not yet broken into the first-team picture at Ewood Park, Blackburn only ever had very limited leverage to try and convince the forward to stay put and it will be interesting to see how his career unfolds in North London.
Unfortunately, it appears as if Rovers had no real chance of keeping his services and will instead have to focus on the other budding young talents they have coming through the ranks.
