Arsenal has already held talks over signing Barcelona man

Arsenal have held a long-standing interest in Barcelona’s Jules Kounde, who continues to demonstrate that he is one of the best players in his position in Europe. The Gunners already have two excellent right-backs in Ben White and Jurrien Timber, but both have struggled with injuries during their time at the club.

White and Timber have often taken turns being unavailable, while there have also been occasions when neither player has been fit. Arsenal remain committed to both defenders, but their fitness issues have created a need for additional cover.

That situation will not stop the Gunners from pursuing another right back, and Kounde is the defender they most want to add to their squad. The Frenchman is an outstanding player who could strengthen Arsenal’s defensive options immediately.

Arsenal Continue Kounde Talks

Team Talk reports that Arsenal held talks with Barcelona about Kounde’s signature during the summer. The Gunners attempted to reach an agreement, but the deal never materialised.

Arsenal could explore another move during the January transfer window, although a transfer in the summer may be more realistic. The club will continue monitoring Kounde’s situation while deciding when to make another approach.

The defender’s quality makes him an attractive target for Arsenal. He could provide reliable cover at right back and offer competition for White and Timber when they are fit.

Kounde Could Join Arsenal

Kounde is currently regarded as one of the best right-backs in Europe, and joining Arsenal could raise his profile further. The Premier League would provide him with a new challenge, while playing for the Gunners could give him an important role in a team competing for major honours.

The Frenchman may therefore be open to the possibility of moving to north London. Arsenal’s previous discussions demonstrate their serious interest, even though they were unable to complete the transfer.

If the Gunners decide that their existing defensive options are not reliable enough, they could return for Kounde in one of the next transfer windows.
