Arsenal has highest wage bill despite not having the biggest earner

Arsenal remain one of the clubs with the best players in England, and that means they pay significant salaries to keep their squad happy at the Emirates, making them the team with the biggest wage bill in the Premier League, according to The Sun.

The Gunners now pay some of the highest salaries in the league and across Europe. When players such as Declan Rice sign new deals, they could also be earning more than they do currently, further increasing Arsenal’s overall wage bill.

However, Arsenal do not pay the highest salary in the league to any individual player. That honour belongs to Erling Haaland of Manchester City, who is reportedly the highest-paid player in the competition.

City also pay some of the highest salaries in the world, and the Citizens could easily be considered among the clubs with the largest wage bills in the Premier League. However, Arsenal currently sit above them in the figures reported.

The Gunners reportedly pay £175.24m per year in wages to their players, giving them the highest wage bill in England. Manchester City are second with £165.72m per year, according to the figures available.
