Francesco Pio Esposito carved out a relevant role for himself at Inter despite the competition, and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed, as Arsenal poked around following the recent meeting between the two outfits in the UEFA Champions League, Corriere dello Sport relays (via Fantacalcio).
The youngster came off the bench and, while he didn’t score, he gave fits to the opposing defense. The Gunners think he has the right characteristics to succeed in the Premier League, considering his combination of size and technique. Plus, he has major room for improvement.
While Arsenal and other sides, for instance Napoli, which made an attempt in the summer, might covet Esposito, he’s completely untouchable for Inter, which are well aware of his quality and potential. He extended his contract until 2030 last year, quelling any concern about his future. He has totaled 4 goals and 6 assists in 26 showings this campaign.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri recently had a meeting at the highest level to discuss the team’s financial firepower and future strategies. As for January, their hierarchy is lurking to see whether they could add depth on the flanks. The coach has suggested a proper winger rather than a fullback.
He’s been tremendous considering that it’s always tough for a youngster not to play with consistency, but it’s inevitable given his side and their other forwards. La Beneamata will likely keep their frontline as is for a while, but, considering the chemistry he has already developed with Lautaro Martinez, and the fact that the captain is obviously in for the long haul, there are more chances Marcus Thuram, and not the starlet, will exit eventually.
