Arsenal are in concrete talks with RB Leipzig to sign Benjamin Šeško, according to Sky Germany. Sporting director Marcel Schäfer is already in contact with the Gunners’ new sporting director, Andrea Berta, to discuss a potential transfer in the summer.
After missing out on Champions League football on the final day of the season, RB Leipzig will be forced into sales to generate revenue. Alongside Šeško, Leipzig are also open to letting Loïs Openda leave in the summer should they receive at least €60m.
Šeško scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 33 league games for Leipzig last season and has scored 39 and created eight in 87 games since his move in 2023.
Sky Germany report that Šeško’s release clause exceeds €80m, but that RB Leipzig would be open to discussing potential payment structures, meaning that the Saxony club could demand a base fee of €75m plus a further €15m in bonus payments.
It’s also noted that Arsenal have placed Šeško as their top candidate to strengthen their attack next season, ahead of Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres.
