The defender went down early in the second half at the Emirates Stadium after appearing to feel the back of his right leg. From his reaction on the pitch and the area he indicated while receiving treatment, the concern appeared to centre on his right hamstring.
Hincapié was unable to continue and left the field with Arsenal’s medical staff in the 57th minute, with Myles Lewis-Skelly brought on to replace him.
Initial assessments are cautious, with multiple reports describing the issue as hamstring tightness or suspected strain, which would hopefully only result in a short lay-off.

Arsenal are now waiting on scan results to determine the severity of the injury and whether Hincapié will be available for their upcoming fixtures, including the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. No timeframe has been set at this stage but it seems likely he would have been rested for Portsmouth on Sunday, anyway.
The Ecuador international has endured a stop-start first season at the club. This latest issue is his third separate problem of the campaign, following earlier groin and shoulder injuries that have seen him miss 11 matches since joining.
Prior to his move to north London, Hincapié had apparently missed only 10 games through injury across his senior career.
