Arsenal is one of the clubs watching FC Porto right back

Arsenal have emerged as suitors for FC Porto right-back Alberto Costa, as the defender continues to perform well for his team following his move there from Juventus last year.

The 22-year-old has been considered one of the top full-backs on the continent over the last few seasons and has continued to develop well despite not getting enough opportunities at Juventus.

Since returning to Portugal to play for Porto, Costa has performed well and could now earn a move to a big club in the next transfer window. Arsenal have joined a growing list of top teams interested in signing him, according to Caught Offside.

The Gunners already have two superb right backs, but Jurrien Timber and Ben White are often injured, meaning they might have to replace at least one of them in the coming season.

Arsenal Consider Costa for Right Back Role

Cristhian Mosquera can also play in that role, but he is currently injured. As a result, Arsenal are on the lookout for another player who can strengthen the position and make it better than it is now.

Costa has emerged as an option for the Gunners because of his performances since returning to Portugal. His continued development has also kept him on the radar of clubs looking for a quality right back.

Arsenal see Costa as a top option for the position and could consider making a move for him when the season ends. The defender would also reportedly be more than happy to join a top club and test himself in the Premier League.

Costa Could Move to Premier League

Costa’s development at Porto has put him in a position to potentially earn another move after leaving Juventus. His performances for the Portuguese club have helped him remain among the players attracting interest from major teams.

For Arsenal, the situation surrounding their right-backs could make the position one that requires attention in the coming season. The injuries affecting Timber, White and Mosquera have left the Gunners considering their options for the role.

Costa could therefore become a player they pursue if they decide to strengthen the position. A move would also give the 22-year-old the chance to test himself in the Premier League.

However, the transfer would depend on Arsenal and Porto being able to agree on a fee when the next transfer window opens.
