Arsenal goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger has sustained an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

The Gunners announced news of the player’s injury via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

The 29-year-old Austrian international is understood to have sustained the injury whilst in an Arsenal training session earlier this week. The player was absent from the side which defeated Portuguese club SL Benfica in the UEFA Women’s Champions League last night.

Zinsberger’s injury has now been fully-assessed by the Arsenal medical team and it has been confirmed that she has ruptured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). The player will require surgery before beginning the rehabilitation process. Zinsberger will be sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal could face further short-term challenges in their goalkeeping department. Dutch keeper Daphne van Domselaar has pulled out of international duty due to fitness issues, although it is likely to be a precautionary measure. German keeper Anneke Borbe is the other senior goalkeeper in the Arsenal squad.

With the international break now imminent, Arsenal do not return to action until Sunday 2 November 2025 when they travel to The King Power Stadium to face Leicester City in a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture.
