Atlético Madrid have reportedly slapped a staggering €100 million price tag on Julian Alvarez.
Arsenal, along with Barcelona, are exploring the opportunity to sign the World Cup winning striker in the summer transfer window.
To add more intrigue to the transfer saga, Paris Saint-Germain have also been recently linked with a move for the La Liga attacker.
Prying him away from the Spanish capital will require a monumental financial package and if reports from Mundo Deportivo are to be believed, it is going to cost clubs €100 million to sign Alvarez.
Atlético Madrid’s uncompromising stance on the €100 million fee is firmly rooted in their recent financial commitments and contract security.
Having signed Alvarez from Manchester City in the summer of 2024 in a landmark club-record deal worth up to €95 million, Diego Simeone’s side are determined to secure a return on their prized asset.
Furthermore, with the World Cup winner securely tied down to a long-term contract running until 2030, Atlético possess ultimate leverage at the negotiating table.
They are under zero institutional pressure to facilitate a cut-price exit.
The competition for Alvarez’s signature is undeniably fierce. Arsenal, who just locked horns with the Argentine during a tense Champions League semi-final clash this season, have heavily monitored his situation as they seek a transformative addition for their frontline
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain boast the sheer financial muscle required to meet Atlético’s valuation without hesitation, viewing Alvarez as a versatile, elite-level profile to bolster their squad.
Despite the deep pockets of their European rivals, Barcelona remain at the center of the narrative Alvarez is internally prioritizing a move to Camp Nou over a return to the Premier League or a switch to Ligue 1.
Knowing this, Barcelona’s hierarchy is biding its time, hoping the 26-year-old will actively take a stand and formally inform Atlético Madrid’s management of his desire to push for a move to Catalonia.
