Dean Huijsen has been the breakthrough star in the Premier League this season, with the youngster enjoying quite the season at Bournemouth.

Huijsen’s performances even helped him earn his debut in the Spanish national team earlier in the season, which put him on the radar of some of the top clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid.

Multiple reports suggest the Spanish giants have identified Huijsen as the ideal defensive target and wants to build a core around him and Raul Asencio.

Real Madrid still indecisive over Huijsen

Despite their interest, however, Real Madrid are still yet to decide whether or not they should make a move for Huijsen in the coming summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Huijsen is keen on joining Real Madrid as he is believed to a huge fan of the club.

However, as Real Madrid continue to remain indecisive, other clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are slowly creeping in.

All the three aforementioned Premier League giants are working on a deal to sign Huijsen next summer.

Although the young Spaniard has only set his sights on Real Madrid, he cannot keep waiting forever, especially as he looks to earn a big-money move elsewhere in the summer.

Real Madrid, therefore, must make a decision soon if they are to get their hands on Huijsen, whose technical ability and athleticisim have made him one of the most sought-after defensive prospects in Europe.

A lot may depend on how the club finish the current season. Real Madrid are currently in a dire position and an early elimination from the UEFA Champions League could certainly tempt the board to splash the cash in the coming summer.

The defensive unit, in particular, has lacked depth and therefore, Huijsen is someone who can be considered an ideal target for Los Blancos.
