Versatile England attacker is one of most wanted players this summer
Arsenal have made Morgan Rogers their top transfer target this summer and are expected to test Aston Villa’s resolve.
Standard Sport understands that Rogers is of genuine interest to the Gunners and that they are likely to make an approach to Villa in the hope of eventually agreeing a deal.
Arsenal appreciate Rogers as a versatile No10 who is also able to play on the left wing.
Rogers is keen on moving to north London and it is believed that personal terms will not be an issue. While Villa accept the player’s career ambitions, they see the England attacker as one of their key players and their clear preference is for the 23-year-old to be involved in their Champions League campaign during the 2026-27 season.
He was named Europa League player of the tournament as Unai Emery’s side beat Freiburg in the final in Istanbul to secure their Champions League return.
Rogers, who has previously had interest from Chelsea, is currently in the United States on international duty at the World Cup with England. He has appeared as a substitute in both of their first two games against Croatia and Ghana.
Talks continue: Jeremy Monga
Arsenal remain in talks with Leicester as they look to wrap up a deal for 16-year-old winger Jeremy Monga.
If a fee is not agreed between the clubs then it would go to a tribunal, but the Gunners are now confident of agreeing a deal in the region of £10million.
While Arsenal's top priority this summer is Rogers, they are also in the market for a midfielder, a full-back, and potentially another forward. There will also be more of a focus on first-team sales.
Talks have taken place over a move for Ayyoub Bouaddi, who has impressed for Morocco at the World Cup.
The Gunners would face stiff competition from across Europe for the 18-year-old. Lille would demand at least £60m for the midfielder.
Arsenal are also still monitoring the situation around Julian Alvarez.

The 26-year-old declared publicly on Monday that he wants to leave Atletico Madrid to “fulfil his dream” and he is pushing to join Barcelona.
However, Atletico are reluctant to sell to their Spanish rivals and have insisted they would have to pay Alvarez's €500m release clause.
Arteta and Andrea Berta are huge admirers of Alvarez and view him as the dream striker signing. Arsenal considered a move for him last summer before opting to pursue Viktor Gyokeres.
That belief Alvarez would be an ideal fit for the Premier League winners is still there and Berta has made initial checks on his situation.
The Gunners are unlikely to make a formal move for Alvarez while he remains focused on securing a transfer to Barcelona.
However, Atletico's preference would be to sell Alvarez to a club outside of Spain and Arsenal would consider advancing their interest if Barcelona walked away.
There have been suggestions that Gyokeres could form part of a deal, though no formal discussions have taken place about that.
Atletico tried to sign Gyokeres last summer before they lost out to Arsenal and are still keen on bringing the striker to Spain.
